Holm Attends 2024 IACC Boot Camp
Jennifer Holm, Grow Clinton Director of Member and Community Relations, recently attended the 2024 Iowa Association of Chambers of Commerce (IACC) Boot Camp in Ankeny, Iowa.
Author and motivational humorist, Desi Payne, was the keynote speaker. Ms. Payne presented several topics aimed at energizing workforce, the importance of good communication, the power of laughter, and the value of connecting to people as a leader in your community. She is the author of Give Me Some Chocolate…I’m Stressed and Do You Work with the Living Dead? as well as a representative of YOUTHMAX which is a program that inspires and equips people to value themselves and others, along with bully-prevention instruction.
Boot Camp attendees had the choice of breakout sessions that included topics focused on community engagement, AI marketing, and tourism. “Visiting and working with professionals from Chambers all over Iowa is fantastic,” said Holm. “We not only share ideas about how to engage our membership, but most importantly, how to support and grow our communities for the betterment of our residents and businesses.”
IACC Boot Camp is held annually to provide Iowa Chamber professionals the opportunity to network and discuss best practices for economic development and community engagement.
“Boot Camp is an excellent way to see what is happening throughout our beautiful state,” according to Holm. “Desi Payne hit on points that are important to all businesses and organizations when it comes to developing leadership skills and encouraging teamwork. Everything presented at Boot Camp fits in with our mission at Grow Clinton.”
