The second annual Bowl-a-thon kicks off this Sunday, November 19th at the Plaza Bowl at 1 pm. This event sponsored by the MLK, Jr. Celebration committee under the auspices of Living Peace 365 will raise funds for future events such as the upcoming Peace and Justice Awards, the annual Martin Luther King Celebration on January 14, 2024, books for kids, and other events promoting peace and justice in our River City communities.
Teams consist of 4 to 5 individuals. Cost per team is $25.00. Cost for shoes and bowling is $7.00. Registration will be available at the door. There will be cosmic bowling, door prizes, lane prizes, along with a raffle. All proceeds go to “Living Peace 365”.
We have a plethora of door prizes, giveaways, and raffle items donated by local merchants and individuals. They range from gift certificates to baskets filled with goodies. One of our baskets consists of two wine glasses, a bottle of wine, truffles, and a men’s watch valued at $500. We will also be giving away a 50” HDTV.
Because of the kind donations from the following merchants those in attendance will not only have a great time bowling but will be able to win lots of prizes: Don’s Jewelry, Brown’s Shoe Store, Clinton Community College, Country Orchids in Fulton, LuLuJo ‘s Boutique, Manning’s Whistle Stop, Traveling Vineyards, YWCA of Clinton, Zirkelbach Appliance, Boegel’s Menswear, Great River Brewing Company, DuDads Gift Shop, Jewel-Osco, La`Feria, Lyons Filling Station, Sweetheart Bakery, Vitale’s Pizza, Happy Joe’s, ACE Hardware, Jewel/Osco, D’lectable D’lites, Hooks’ Pub, Valley Oaks Country Club, Lyons’ Filling Station, 392 Caffee’, and First Central State.
