Well. Here goes. This will be my last Grow Clinton newsletter article. I have accepted a new role and I’m leaving my position as Director of Marketing & Event Planning for this organization. It was a tough decision, to say the least. The good news is, I’m going to start working for a Grow Clinton member business, meaning I will still be in this great region that Grow Clinton serves and can continue making a difference in the region in a new capacity. I have had the great honor of meeting so many wonderful people because of this job and those relationships will forever be important to me. This definitely isn’t goodbye, it’s a true, ‘see ya later’.
I remember the day I interviewed for the job (fun fact it was July 12, 2022 and I had just recovered from COVID!). To Andy and the hiring committee (Steve, Paula, Drew), thank you for choosing me. I am grateful for the challenges and solutions I have been able to fulfill these last 3 years. Someone recently told me when you leave things in a better place than where you found them, that’s something to be proud of and celebrate. And not to pat myself on the back too much, but I truly feel I did just that. I filled a void that was lacking. My position was brand new, and so it was mine to create. I have streamlined event requests, developed a branded look for Grow Clinton, increased Grow Clinton event profits, implemented a content deployment calendar, and more. Things will be left in good order to my successor – but I do challenge that person to put their own ideas into it, change things if they think it needs changed, and make it their own.
I wish this organization much success in the future.
