Busy Month For Workforce

Starting on July 1, 2024, I will be the newest member of the Mississippi Valley Workforce Development Board. I am eager to learn more about the board and how this can positively impact my role at Grow Clinton and relationships with our local businesses. I have been an active member of the Mississippi Valley Workforce Development Board Business Committee for coming up on a year now and I will continue my involvement within that committee. The Business Committee oversees and approves the Retrain & Retain grant funds for companies to get reimbursed for employee training that is focused on industry or business-specific skills, technical or computer skills or foundational such as leadership, teamwork, and management. To learn more about the Retrain & Retain grant, visit https://www.mississippivalleyworkforce.org/grants.

Last month Grow Clinton in partnership with the DeWitt Chamber and Development Company hosted our Q2 Clinton County Veterans Network at the AmVets Post 28 in Clinton. This event’s attendance surpassed all other events with a total of eighty veterans and their spouses gathered together for friendly conversation, tacos, and drinks. Our next Veterans Network will be held in August. If you would like more information about the Clinton County Veteran’s Networks or would like to sponsor an event, please contact Stacy Borgeson at Sborgeson@GrowClinton.com.

Lastly, if you were unable to stop at the drive-thru job fair last month, we will be setting up again on Wednesday, June 19th up on Riverfront from 10am-1pm. Please stop by to grab a bag of local job opportunities.

If you are interested in attending any Grow Clinton events, make sure to watch our Facebook page for information or visit the calendar of events on our website, www.GrowClinton.com.
