Did you know that Grow Clinton promotes two local incentive programs offered by Clinton County? Home Base Iowa is a veteran relocation incentive program that is provided to veterans and transitioning service members and their families with opportunities and benefits for a successful transition in Iowa. Clinton County Iowa was designated a Home Base Iowa (HBI) County by the Iowa Governor on December 26, 2016. Individuals who travel to Clinton County for an interview can be reimbursed for interview expenses up to $275. The county also provides a home closing cost reimbursement of $1,500. There have been dozens of veterans and their families who have taken advantage of this great program. In addition to the county incentives, the City of Clinton also offers incentives to our veterans. A Parks and Recreation credit, waiver of garbage, sewer credit and general admission tickets to the Clinton LumberKings are just a few of the incentives provided by the city. The Clinton County Community Student Loan Payback Assistance Program was created to help ease the financial burden of student loans while recruiting and retaining top talent through a progressive debt relief initiative. Eligible candidates will receive $50 a month from Clinton County toward the payoff of their student loan debt for up to five years. In addition to the county providing funds, the cities of Clinton, Camanche, and DeWitt also provide funds monthly, as well as their respective school districts.
