    Speak Out Against Suicide’s mission is to eliminate the stigma of suicide and depression. Our goal is to increase awareness and prevention, and to create safe environments to which community members know they are not alone and can feel free to ask for help. Our organization is volunteer based, and we are involved with helping communities with various projects.

    To Qualify You MUST:
     Be a senior at any Iowa or Illinois High School
     Plan to attend a college, university or trade school upon graduation
     Submit a paragraph to describe why you feel you deserve our scholarship. We would like to know if you are involved with any community service organizations and if so, what are those organizations? We would also like to know why our mission is important to you and has it made an impact in your life.

    * Please include where you will be advancing your education and what field you will be working to strive for.

    The Scholarship will be granted for one year and is non-renewable.
    Selection will be based on community service and volunteer activities.
    The scholarship is a tuition scholarship, and will be paid directly to the college, university or trade school of your choice.
    Eligible students must complete the above documents and submit them by Monday April 29th , 2024.

    The Speak Out Against Suicide Scholarship Committee will determine the scholarship recipient.

    Any Iowa or Illinois High School seniors who have participated in community activities, and have plans to continue education after high school will qualify for this scholarship. If chosen the tuition will be paid directly to the college, university or trade school of your choice. The scholarship is non-renewable

    Speak Out Against Suicide may reconsider your scholarship if you break the code of conduct within your High School’s policy.

    Eligible students must email applications to Shawn Felts, Speak Out Against Suicide – sfelts.soas@outlook.com prior to April 29th, 2024. The scholarships will be presented to the recipient at Speak Out Headquarters with date to be announced.
